When I tell you Tofte Trails is one of my most favorite places I’ve ever stayed, I mean in. Bryan and I got to take a couple nights away up to the North Shore so I could capture content for Tofte Trails and it was an honor.
Night 1 – We checked in, unpacked, and drove over to North Shore Winery for a bite to eat and a glass of wine. We’d never been and we’ll definitely be back in nicer weather to sit outside. Everyone was lovely and the wine was great!
We headed back over to Tofte Trails and were greeted with a dark peaceful night and the twinkle lights turned on throughout the property. Even the walk from the car down to our cabin was magical. Kelsey and Chris sure know how to create beautiful spaces.
For the rest of the evening we watched Netflix, sipped a little more wine, and went to bed early for a deep restful night of sleep.
Day 2 – The morning was so peaceful waking up. We opened the screen covering the sliding doors with a flip of a switch without having to get out of bed, and enjoyed the sunrise. When we finally pulled ourselves out of bed Bryan got to working remote at the small table provided and I ventured up to Grand Marais for coffee at Java Moose. The Nordic Miel is a MUST if you’re in the area.
Bryan finished working in the afternoon and we spent the rest of the day making a fire in the Solo Stove, playing games, sipping wine, and enjoying the serenity that comes with a winter visit to the north shore. There may not have been snow in early December this year, but the earthy winter colors were beautiful.
We ended up getting a call later that evening that our daughter was sick, so we packed up at 9 pm and drove 4 hours home. Although the trip was cut short, it was nothing less than spectacular. Truly a must stay place on the North Shore!
